About

The Modern Psychonaut, founded by Tara Pearce, is a space for exploring altered states of consciousness as pathways into self-discovery, healing, expanded awareness and a deeper understanding of what it means to be human.

We explore the profound role of altered states accessed through psychedelics, meditation, breathwork, mindfulness, sound and deep communion with nature, and the ways these experiences can shift how we understand ourselves, each other and the world around us.

At its heart, The Modern Psychonaut is grounded in curiosity. Through articles, guides, personal reflections and shared experiences, Tara brings together knowledge, lived experience and evolving perspectives on consciousness, inner exploration and the process of integrating what these experiences can reveal.

This is not a space to instruct people on what to believe or how to journey. It is a space for thoughtful exploration, encouraging people to approach these experiences with awareness, intention and responsibility, while ultimately trusting their own inner intelligence.

The Modern Psychonaut honours nature, our interconnectedness and the possibility that there is far more to consciousness than we currently understand.

Because being a psychonaut is not defined by substances. It is defined by a willingness to explore the inner landscape with curiosity, presence and an openness to transformation.

This work also extends into Women of Mycelia, founded by Tara as a dedicated space for women who feel called to explore a deeper relationship with self through sacred mushrooms, with a focus on preparation, reflection and integration.

Through curiosity, intention and integration, The Modern Psychonaut exists for those already exploring these spaces, and for those standing at the edges, quietly wondering what else might be possible.
